 This is a picture of Henrik from Londen Inc.  Londen Inc. was a Canadian manufacturer of fine and custom made beautiful linens.  It was a family business -  Henrik's sister started the company almost 30 years ago, and employed about 55 employees.  It was one of my favourite lines for their quality, fine detail to workmanship, and their service.  I always had a very pleased and happy customer after purchasing anything from Londen Inc.   I knew some of the employees, and I hope they are doing well.  I was always proud to say "Made in Canada"!!

Unfortunately we are losing alot of Canadian Manufacturers.  I have been selling furniture for about 22 years (boy I am giving away my age)  but back then, I never would of dreamed there would be furniture made in China!! and now thats all you see!!   In our store we are very proud to show about 95% of Canadian made product.  When shopping for furniture, you will find a huge quality differance, more choice in colour, and can buy it  individually, rather than in sets.   You may be surprised that the price is not much more" if any"  than the imported lines.  And it lasts forever.  Just think of our landfills filling up with all that stuff that falls apart or arrives damaged.

So I guess the reason I am writing this blog -  the next time you are in the market  - think about Canada!!!
