CGTA Spring 2012

Posted: January 31st, 2012. – By: Marcey – 0 Comments

It's always so fun for me to go to the spring show and see the new trends and patterns for the new year.  So what did I notice this year ?  I noticed that there is a little bit of everything for everybody.  I would say grey is the strong colour again this year, dark grey especially.  If you like bright funky colours, you can definately find that, RJS trading is one of the best at that.. How about a little "glam" with deep rich purples, or fuchsia, or black, with some bling, not a problem either.  If you like monochromatic, soft and soothing, with some texture, (my favourite look) like the end picture -  I found that in a new company I have picked up named Linen House. They keep it nice and simple alot of white, creams, greys, blues, with some subtle elegant embroidery.  I did not see much or any of the more traditional looks, with that elegant flair, in the rich jewels tones, something like you would see in Jack Abbots bedroom on the Young and the Restless.   Duvet covers, and quilts are "In" comforters are "Out".  Brunelli impressed me the most!  They have a new line named "Loft"  (The first picture shown)  It is a quilt/duvet cover, which I love because, it has a soft comfy quilted feel, but it has an envelope in it, so if you wish you can put a duvet inside it (or not).  It is available in 5 colours, I will be showing all the colours.  They are also making what they call a bed scarf, which is a piece of the quilted fabric that lays on the end of the bed to keep it clean in case you have your shoes on... it's kind of a hotel thing.  I would use it as an accent for colour, like putting a throw or quilt on the end of the bed, because I would never let anybody on my bed with there shoes on for heavens sake...lol !!!!  I will let you know when patterns start arriving.....so you know what that means, I have some patterns to clear out!!  Keep an eye on FaceBook for pics.
